Bodyweight Training – No Equipment Required!

You don’t have to go to a health club or private fitness studio to get a good weight training workout in. If you use a home-based fitness business to get workout plans or ideas, you’ll see that there are many types of exercises that you can do from anywhere which will help to tone up and build muscle without having to have any equipment.

Push-ups are a great body weight training exercise that you can do to build strength in the upper body. Gravity helps with the resistance of the movement as you tone up your chest, triceps, and shoulders. Push-ups are great exercises for building core strength and functional fitness as well. Video animated fitness trainer segments are a great tool and resource to study form and modifications as well as different variations of the movement.

Squats are perfect exercises for strengthening the leg muscles and glutes without having to have any additional equipment. The gluteus maximus muscle movements in squats can help create power in the legs in addition to toning and lifting. Squats can also help increase stability for individuals wanting to improve functional fitness. Squats can be modified for those who sometimes experience minor pain in the knees or hips. Squats can also be done in a variety of different ways to target specific areas of the leg and glutes. They can be made more difficult by doing more reps or more sets of the exercise movement. If you are new to performing squats, ask a personal trainer for a demonstration and to watch your form. Doing them incorrectly will not provide you the benefits of the exercise and can increase your risk of straining or injury.

Burpees are another exercise that builds power and increases fitness without needing any fitness equipment. Burpees can be done anywhere and you don’t have to do a lot of them to build fitness. Burpees also increase your heart rate quickly providing you an added bonus of a cardio workout in addition to strengthening and toning. Many runners and endurance athletes use burpees to build endurance and speed, making them better at competition. Others like the high-impact move for its ability to burn calories quickly and the opportunity to get a great workout done in a short amount of time. Burpees are perfect for those who do not have a lot of time to work out but want to get in a full body workout with the benefits of a cardio workout.
